The Old World Bar Globe Cart holds your stemware and your finest wine, port or brandy below and inside of this globe. The stand has casters on the bottom to allow you to move the cart easily to where you need it. It also features a small side table to prepare your drinks.
This beautiful world globe is hand-crafted in Italy according to a tradition established in Renaissance Florence circa the 1500s. The exterior of the globe is hand-laid paper, which is applied in a manner which is similar to the application of wall paper. As the paper is laid on the spherical globe, the lines of latitude do not meet precisely. This is intentional, as the globes of that era were produced in this manner.
The globe is based on 16th century maps depicting the world as it was known at the time. As a result, incongruities with modern knowledge of the continents exist. These are typically visible to an observer of the piece only on close detailed inspection. These features testify to the globe's authenticity as a true work of art.
